My 2021

My 2021

How’s your 2021 going so far?

In your personal life, that is.

Maybe your career?

Your health?

I’m not going to discuss politics here as I’m sure we’re all sick and tired of that only a near 40 days into the new year. As we look on with hope following the events of January 20th, may we also develop hope for our personal lives, careers, health, and more.

How about your author career? How’s that going? Did you participate in the last #PitMad challenge on Twitter? I did, and well, I didn’t read all the rules, unfortunately; I didn’t have a completed manuscript! Whoops! Though, I am excited about the upcoming PitMad event: March 4th, 2021 from 8:00 am-8:00 pm EST.

The problem?

I don’t have a completed young reader and/or children’s book manuscript.

So, now, I’m challenging myself to have a completed manuscript by the morning of the next event. Think I can do it? I’ll create a tracker and post it up in the header of my website. Additionally, I’ll write posts on Twitter and on here regarding my progress.

There is one book I’ve completed over the winter of 2020, but I have been too afraid to submit it to a local publisher. It’s a relatively small publishing house so it wouldn’t have that much impact on my author career but I know it’s at least a start. And that’s enough for me as I step out on the path of an author career. Of course all that sounds as though it’s already here, but I think I’m just being fairly optimistic of my own writing abilities and more.

What are your author/writing goals of 2021?
