Social media is a powerful tool for building a personal brand i.e. marketing your self as an author. Twitter is one such powerful marketing tool at your fingertips. These last few weeks I’ve been posting and engaging with others regularly, which helps grow your list of followers. While having a large following is wonderful, it means nothing if you have low engagement. Engagement is key because it says “I’m real, authentic.” Communicating with your followers and with what they care about builds authenticity and authority, both.

Self Publishing on Amazon

Last night, January 12th, 2020, with the help of a fellow author, I submitted for review a children’s book I wrote called Over The Creek. Over The Creek was written by yours truly and illustrated by Sarah Arrowsmith (@LadyArrowsmith).

Honestly? It took me a WEEK to figure out how to put everything together for submission. It was such a headache I was beginning to contemplate quitting writing all together. Nonetheless, I persisted and now the book is in the “IN REVIEW” stage on Amazon. Of course, I’ll be updating the entire process on Twitter (don’t forget to follow me there).
